How We Work Together

If you choose to call or email me, we can set up a preliminary telephone call to get to know one another. In our first conversation I can get a broad idea of what you have in mind and we can discuss some general questions, including dates, fees, and concerns that you may have. I hope from that call, we'll both know if we have rapport and if it feels right to move ahead together.

If you live in the New York City area, we can then schedule a face-to-face meeting. If you live out of the area we can do a conference call with participants to discuss the ceremony in greater detail. Our speaking enables us to get to know one another better. That's the fun and joy of it. So much of what I do in creating a ceremony is based on what you tell me.

If you choose to work with me, I'd like a non-refundable 50% deposit. For a wedding or commitment ceremony I will give or mail you a questionnaire with questions that will help me get to know you better.

Weeks before the event I will present a draft of a "script" for your approval and input. The only parts of the ceremony I would prefer not to include in the script are the vows. I like each person to write his and/or her own (I'll help you if you want) and not share it with your partner in advance. Vows written from the heart and spoken aloud for the first time at the ceremony can be very powerful.

On the day of the ceremony, or before, I will coordinate with the venue staff, designated wedding planner, your Best Man and Maid of Honor on specific details and logistics so that everything goes smoothly.
